Full polished calf leather binding, three volume set finely bound in contemporary polished calf, black morocco labels and intricate gilt decorations, gilt titles, raised gilt bands, marbled page edges and paste downs. Frontispieces in all volumes with 2 engraved portraits and one tinted lithographic view. A handsome set.
CONDITION: VG *Please see pictures* Former library set as shown in pictures. The text is large enough and clear enough to read very easily. Pages are foxed and leather cover is worn. - VG- (Very Good): Worn. Defects are noted.
- Poor / Fair / Former Library Book: Worn book that has complete text pages (including those with maps or plates) but may lack endpapers, have loose binding.
To preserve the condition of your book, place your book upright on a shelf with the spine facing outward. Books should be firmly pressed together but not wedged in tightly, which causes stress on the bindings. Shelves should not be exposed to direct sunlight and should be in a dry, insect-free location.
